Enjoy the Breathtaking Northern Minnesota Wilderness

Crane Lake is a 3,088 acre, 80-foot-deep lake located 28 miles northeast of Orr, MN. The lake’s northern shore forms part of the boundary to Voyageurs National Park. Not only is Crane Lake an entry point into the park, but it is also a U.S. Customs port for seaplane traffic.

Crane Lake is where the highway ends, and the vast waterways that once transported furs and other goods throughout the wilderness begin. Glaciers sculpted the rock formations you see. Overlooks at Vermilion Gorge, Vermillion Falls, and Grassy Bay Cliffs offer spectacular views of some of the nation’s oldest geological rock formations.

“Beautiful Scenery! We can’t wait to get our pictures back to show everyone just how beautiful it is up there.”

We Love to Share Our Knowledge

Ask us about the Native American pictographs painted onto the granite bluffs, a vital part of the park’s history. We’ll also point the way to the hottest fishing spots on Minnesota and Canada’s richest trophy lakes. Or let us direct you to any of the lakes’ secluded islands or bays. The scenery here must be seen to be believed, and we believe the best way to see it is from the deck of one of our beautiful houseboats.
