Booking Policy

Reservation Policy:

If you are simply lodging with us, you may Check-in at 3:00PM and Check-out is 11:00AM

If you are lodging with us the night before your houseboat trip you qualify for priority boarding between 11:00am-1:00PM. If you are arriving the day of your trip, you may board your houseboat between 1:00PM-3:00PM. IF NOT CHECKED IN BY 4PM HOUSEBOATS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO DEPART UNTIL FOLLOWING DAY. GUESTS NOT CHECKED IN BY 4PM WILL BE SUBJECT TO A $100 PER HOUR LATE FEE.

Houseboats MUST be back to the dock by 9:00AM on your final day. Boats not returned by 9AM will be subject to a $100 per hour late fee (billed to nearest 15 minutes) 

Per Coast Guard Regulation houseboats are REQUIRED to have a motorized tow behind. If you are NOT bringing a boat of your own, please add one from our listed offerings.

Houseboats are REQUIRED to have a permit for each houseboat to be overnight in the National Park which needs to be purchased through the National Park Service. You will need to purchase your permit before you arrive. Please visit www.recreation.gov to make your reservation. You will want to select a permit for Sand Point, Namakan, and Kabetogama. If you have questions about the permits contact a representative at Voyagaire or with the National Park service at 218-283-6600.

These documents are very helpful when preparing for your trip, so we recommend printing them and sharing them with other group members. Please note the downloadable PDF documents within the pages also. Rental equipment should be reserved in advance as quantity is limited.

Things to do Near Voyagaire

If you reserved an UTV or boat, You may pick up your rental on the morning of the first day of your reservation. You need to return the UTV or boat no later than 9am on the last morning. The rental will be fueled when you arrive. You are responsible for any fuel used while in possession of the rental. Please stop by the office before you hit the road to take care of any fuel charges.

When you arrive for your UTV or boat, you will be required to post a damage deposit in the amount of $2,500.00 on a major credit card. These funds will not be accessed unless there is damage to the rental.

Cancellation Policy:

All cancellations must be received in writing by info@voyagaire.com at least 90 days prior to your trip start date and before final payment is processed.

Houseboats: All payments are non-refundable unless Trip Insurance Plan is purchased and paid for.

Lodging, UTV’s, & Tow Behind Boats: With 30 days or more notice of start date, guests will be refunded their deposit minus a $25 per night service charge. If notice is between 7 and 29 days in advance guests will lose their entire deposit. On cancellations of less than 7 days guests are responsible for the entire length of their reserved stay.

Trip Insurance:

Thank you for booking your dream vacation! Now let us help you protect the investment of your trip. We offer a Trip Protection Plan which covers customers in the event they need to cancel a houseboat reservation for any reason. Guests that purchase our Trip Protection Plan will receive a 75% refund on their houseboat reservation provided the reservation is cancelled 30 days or more prior to the start date. Guests who cancel 14 to 30 days before their start date will receive a 50% refund. Trip Protection Plans costs 10% of your rentals (Houseboat & Tow behind) this allows to cancel for any reason.

Other insurance options are available through our recommended third-party provider InsureMyTrip that offers hand selected plans that will help protect your trip.

FINAL PAYMENTS:

Houseboat trips MUST be paid in full at least 90 days prior to your trip. If we have not received your final payment on your due date the provided credit card on file will be charged for the remaining balance plus a 3% credit card processing fee.

Final payments by personal check, money orders, or certified funds received prior to your final balance owing are permitted and avoid the credit card processing fee.

If booking is placed within 90 days of your reservation start date, final payment is due 10 days after reservation is made. If final payment is not received within 10 days, the provided credit card on file will be charged the remaining balance plus a 3% credit card processing fee.

*Although your invoice may reflect a ‘boat name’ please note that boat assignments are subject to change.
