Late morning and early afternoon tend to be the best time to catch big Northerns.
Late May and early June tend to be the best season for Northern fishing. Pike spawn around April’s full moon cycle regardless if there’s open water or ice. After they spawn they look to regain weight lost during their spawn.
Big Northern Pike tend to feed from below. They eat live bait in the 4 – 15 inch range or lures that look like injured or dying fish.
